Caption on item: "Geneva Coal Mine,", "Geneva Mine. 10 raise. 4 right. Gobbing of rock and coal mixture within district there is a high percentage of coal. (over 50%) in these files which can not be cleaned economically by hand," and "Geneva Mine. Top 3 raise. Mining upper 9 feet – note prominent rock split in seam. This split has retarted mechanical loading because machines must be stopped to throw out rock by hand."
