Materials contain papers describing the military service of Kenneth Duane Skinnner regarding his service in the U.S. Navy Reserve during World War II with the 4th Marines on the U.S.S. Mifflin. Describes his involvement in the battles on Iwo Jima and Okinawa and the casualties there. Talks about the support he received from his family in enlisting in the Navy, his religious activity during the war, his good physical health, contact with home, and friends that he made in the service. Finally talks about his wife and family and the blessing they have been to him. Also includes two pages relating an opportunity he had to hold Sacrament Meeting on the U.S.S. Mifflin on the way to Iwo Jima. Talks about the testimonies that they each shared. Dated approximately 2000.
