Materials contain a memoir and journal of Daniel Quentin Price regarding his service in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a storekeeper aboard the USS Crowley. Memoir and journal discuss his day to day life aboard a Destroyer Escort. He was present during five major operations in the South Pacific: Luzon, Philippines; Formosa, China; Iwo Jima; Okinawa, Japan; and Tokyo, Japan. Describes the day to day experiences he had while serving. Tells of the tragedies that occurred in the war during battles and storms. Also shows through experience the great risk and danger the Navy was exposed to during typhoons and kamikaze attacks. Includes a copied photograph. Dated 1944-1945 and approximately 2000.
