Materials include a short biography of Brice J. Hallows detailing his military service with the U.S. Marines during World War II. Discusses his short training period and transfer to the Pacific Theater. Describes his relationships with fellow Latter-day Saint servicemen and the spiritual strength he received from them. Also describes his participation in the battles at Okinawa and Oroku, including stories of combat while on night patrols. Relates his brushes with death and his acts of courage while on the front lines. Also discusses his unit's assignment as part of the occupational force in both Japan and Tsingtao, China. Photographs show Hallows with his fellow troops, in military dress, in ruined Japanese battlements, and in China. Dated approximately 1945, 2002.
