Biographical / Historical

F. LaMond Tullis (1935- ) was a professor of political science and Associate Academic Vice-President at Brigham Young University.

F. LaMond Tullis earned a bachelor's degree in Spanish and Political Science from the University of Utah. He continued at Brigham Young University where he completed a master's degree in Political Science, as well as an M.P.A. in Development Studies and a Ph.D. in Political Science from Harvard University. He taught at BYU from 1969-1998. His responsibilities including chairing the Department of Political Science from 1978-1983 and acting as an associate academic vice president from 1985-1989. As a vice president, he was responsible for graduate studies, the library, and externally funded research. He undertook other assignments including serving as a consultant to the United Nations and the U.S. Department of State. He was a visiting fellow at the London School of Economics, the University of Sussex, and Princeton University. He has published numerous articles and won various awards for his efforts.
