Scope and Contents

The series contains performance programs. Some performances were given by Leilei Tian. The majority includes performance of Tian's works or compositions by other musicians. The performances were held all over the world, because the programs are in many different languages including French, German and Chinese, as well as others. Date range is 1998-2014.

Biographical History

From the Collection:

Leilei Tian (1971- ) is a noteworthy Latter-day Saint composer.

Leilei Tian was born in 1971 in China. She began to study piano at the age of six. She received her Master's Degree at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, studying under Zhenmin Xu. In 1997, she went to Sweden to study in the Conservatory of Music in Gothenburg with Ole Lutzow-Holm, where she received her postgraduate diploma. She attended master classes all over Europe, including Germany, France, Netherlands, and Austria. She moved to Paris in 2002 to study, and currently resides there. She has composed over 50 works, and regularly works in commissions with music institutions, festivals, and ensembles around the world. She has won several international competitions.
