Eldred H. Erickson memoir and photographs, 1989-2003, 1942-1945
Scope and Contents
Materials contain a memoir of Eldred H. Erickson's military service written by his wife regarding his service in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942 to 1945. She discusses his service as a radar specialist in the Aleutian Islands. Most of the memoir consists of quotes taken from letters and journal entries written by Erickson and oral interviews. Describes basic training in Missouri, radar school in Florida, duty in the Aleutian Islands, and the invasion of Kiska. Contains copied photographs of Erickson during the war from 1942 to 1943 and one photograph of Erickson in 1989. Also contains photographs of Erickson's Army patches and insignia. Dated 1942-1945, 1989-2003.
