Normand Dee Laub papers, approximately 1996, 2003
Scope and Contents
Materials contain pamphlets, written by Normand Dee Laub and his wife, Barbara, that expound on Laub's experiences in the Pacific during and after World War II. The pamphlets discuss war conditions in the Admiralty Islands, the emotional stresses on soldiers, Christian missionaries on the island of Manus, and a specific invasion of Manila Laub participated in. Photographs, dispersed throughout the pamphlets, show Laub in military dress, with his fellow soldiers, in the jungle, during his later return trips to the Pacific, with his brother Merrill, and the Philippine people with whom he shared the gospel. Also contains a book that Barbara compiled titled "Beyond the Bend--The Journey of Normand D. Laub from World War II to Peace of Mind" which gives more historical accounts of combat in the Pacific. Dated approximately 1996, 2003.
