Materials include letters to Orson F. Whitney from his mother, Helen Mar Kimball Whitney, his sister Genevieve (Gen), and his sister-in-law Emma (Emily Ann Smoot). The letters are dated between March 17, 1882 and April 16, 1882, and give Orson updates on daily life and other events that the women experienced during Orson's absence.
