Materials contain a memoir of Don Jameson regarding his service as an engineer in the British Merchant Navy during World War II from 1942-1946. Contains letters describing Jameson's military experiences. Includes a log of his voyages on transport ships in the Atlantic, Mediterranean, and the English Channel. Describes life in Manchester during German bombing raids. Also includes details of his induction, life on the transport ships, and the fear from sustaining bombardment from coastal batteries in North Africa. Includes photocopies of Jameson's military photographs and discharge papers, and photographs of the Auckland Star. Dated 1942-1946, 2000-2001.
