Materials include handwritten memoir of Lee Truax Dalton relating his experiences in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He writes of his time aboard the U.S.S. Instill as part of a mine-sweeper crew, and of his shore duty at Argentia, Newfoundland, in the North Atlantic. He also tells of a German prisoner-of-war U-Boat crew they supervised, and a heart-warming Christmas experience as part of the local Navy Choir who collected donations and distributed presents to the children of St. Johns, Newfoundland. Dated approximately 2001.
