Material contains a memoir of Chester M. Gilgen about his service in the U.S. Navy as an Aviation Radar Technician 1/C in Africa during World War II from 1942-1945. Gilgen briefly describes his job of locating enemy RADAR signals and his experiences while based at Port Leyauty, Africa. Includes one photograph of him and Chauncey Coor, his friend. One photocopied photograph and Gilgen and Mary Ellen Read. Dated 1942-1945, approximately 1990- 2000.
