Scope and Contents
Contains a four page, typed manuscript by Gates titled "What is Going on in Mexico?" Gates in this article describes Mexico's struggles since the colonial period, praising the efforts of Mexico's post-revolution leaders (Lázaro Cárdenas) and their efforts to enact agrarian and educational reform. Gates is also critical of excessive spending under President Roosevelt's New Deal.
