Materials contain a detailed collection of the war experiences of Owen Ken Earl in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Discusses his training in boot camp and Officer Candidate School, and his travels around Europe. Contains short biographies of his commanding officers and fellow servicemen. Includes a detailed account, and an accompanying press release, of Earl's involvement in building an Latter-Day Saint Chapel on Sardinia. Discusses his relations with other Latter-Day Saint servicemen and the strength he derived from living his religion. Also includes descriptions of his aerial combat missions and other combat assignments in Tunisia, Sicily, and Germany. Discusses the war's end, his journey home and discharge, his reunion with family, and meeting his wife. Also includes a short autobiography of his wife, LuDeen Earl. Also contains a photograph and biography of Earl within a newsletter for the 17th Bomb Group. Dated 1944-2000.
