Eugene W. Price papers, after 1944
Scope and Contents note
Materials contain papers relating to Eugene W. Price's military service as a gunner in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He achieved rank of Staff Sergeant. Includes handwritten, photocopied memoir in which Price describes his training, and discusses his base in Caserta, Italy; daily routines; and some of the most dangerous bombing missions he participated in. Includes two photocopied articles: one describes Camp Patrick Henry, Virginia and was written by Captain Donald Higgins; and the other describes Liberty Ships troop transports and was written by Lieutenants F. P. Nesdale and C. P. Clogher. Also includes photocopied correspondence between Price and his parents, two original envelopes, photographs of souvenirs from Italy, and photocopied photographs of Price, his comrades, B-24's. Contains photocopied military documents and pamphlets about the B-24 and B-17 Bombers. Includes photos of Price and the crew he was in, photos of his memorabilia. Dated after 1944.
