Pregnancy lore and folk belief / Cindy Woodfield, 1998
Scope and Contents note
Woodfield collected folklore surrounding pregnancy. Included are stories of ancestors' experiences with pregnancy and childbirth, folk beliefs in divining the gender of the unborn child, and explanations of belief or disbelief in anesthetic during childbirth. The project was created for an English 391 class taught at Brigham Young University in 1998.
