Contains genealogical information; pages 1-102 are a personal history up to 1854; mission to Maine; mentions John Taylor working to publish a paper to be called "The Mormon;" leaves Maine, September 1855; account of his November 1855 visit to Nauvoo and with Lucy Mack Smith, Emma Smith, and Joseph Smith III; spends winter in Iowa, pages 258-260.
