Note on verso: "465. Ch'en Po-chün, commander of the 6th Red Army of China. Still under twenty, this handsome and brilliant young military commander was given command of Hsiao K'ieh's famous 6th Red Army during the reorganization of 1937, when Hsiao K'eh was transferred to the 4th Front Red Army from Szechuen. He is one of a dozen most important Red military leaders in China. Photo by Nym Wales, 1937."
