Biographical History

Stanley A. McChrystal was born in 1954 on the Fort Leavenworth base in Kansas. After graduating from the US Military Academy in 1976, he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the US Army. He had a long career in the army, serving in South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Afghanistan. He is well-known for his role in campaigns such as Desert Storm, Desert Shield, and the capture of Saddam Hussein and other leaders of Al-Qaeda in Iraq.
