General

Letter signed, with address to "Monsieur Knowles" on second leaf. Written in French from Ostend, Belgium, 15 March 1585. The "Monsieur Knowles" was likely Thomas Knollys, seventh son of the Elizabethan statesman Sir Francis Knollys, and Governor of Ostend.
