TLS, from George W. Corner, Executive Officer, American Philosophical Society, sends photocopies of letters dealing with Elisha Kent Kane’s personal love life, “I think that Dr. Kane's emotional state regarding Helen Patterson should be recorded, because it gives a side of his personality that would not otherwise be fully displayed,” 1 p., 4 September 1968; attached are photocopied letters and notes (both typed and handwritten) regarding Elisha Kent Kane’s love life and the possibility of him fathering an illegitimate child, 20 pp.
