Writing on back: "Snow-capped mountains up a side valley taken from road up big Cottonwood Canyon to Brighton, with Pres. Heber Grant Oct 10, 1939 about 2:30 P.M. Cottonwood close in.--lemon yellow. Spruce greyish-blue-green. and sides of mtn. here and there flash with Chinese vermilion of a low maple tree growing here Higher up the qualsen? asp are so thick and so white as to give a snow like appearance. Where the leaves are on the whole mountain side is a candle-flame yellow. Le Roy Snow drove up in a Lincoln Zepper? car about 45 MPH."
