Scope and Contents
Journal written by Elizabeth Wood Kane in 1908, which she writes is a "detestable year" because of her family's misfortune and her illnesses, and 1909. She documents her travels to Daytona, Florida; Washington, D.C.; Spring Lake, New York; Savannah, Georgia; and California. She also writes about books she is currently reading, films she has seen, and all her physical ailments she is suffering from including arthritis in her right hand, which sometimes forces her to write entries in her left hand. The entries written by Elizabeth are dated from January 1, 1908 to April 3, 1909. The entries written about her or for her by someone else are dated April 3, 1909 to May 25, 1909. The last entry tells of Elizabeth Wood Kane falling ill and passing away on May 25, 1909. Dated 1908-1909.
