John K. Kane letter to Jane Duval Leiper Kane, 1825 April 1
Scope and Contents
Letter from John K. Kane to Jane Duval Leiper Kane saying that Dunlop (probably James Dunlop) has returned to work on the Rembrandt Peale bill (Peale was lobbying Congress for a commission to pay an equestrian portrait of George Washington) and that a resolution to adjourn on the twelfth has passed. He also says that a canal bill has also passed, which will allow for a water route between New York and Baltimore. Dated April 1, 1825.
