Biographical History

Lawrence E. B. Draper (1950-) is a retired Colonel from the Army and former anesthesiologist currently living in Mexico.

Lawrence Everett Brace was born July 22, 1950 in Costa Mesa, Orange County, California to Constance Ross and Everett F. Brace. When Lawrence was six his parents were divorced. Shortly after his mother joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and raised Lawrence and his sister in that faith. In 1960 Lawrence's mother married a military man named Walter H. Draper in California. Lawrence graduated from Shadle Park High School in Spokane, Washington in 1968 and that same year joined the army.

Lawrence, who goes by Larre, began his educational career as a student of general studies at Rick's College in Rexburg, Idaho from 1971 to 1972. He took a break from school from 1972 to 1974 to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in central England and northern Wales. After returning, Larre went back to school and received a Bachelor's degree in Law Enforcement and Justice Administration from Brigham Young University in 1977. While studying at BYU, Larre met and married Kristi R. Johnson on March 5, 1976 in Los Angeles, California. He service in the army continued as well as his education. From 1982 to 1985 he attended the University of the State of New York for an ASN/BSN degree in Emergency Room/Trauma Nursing. From 1985 to 1987 he attended Colombia Pacific University and received a Master's Degree for Health Services administration. During that time, Larre served as a SCUBA Commander (1986-1989). He continued his education from 1989 to 1991 at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota and received a Master's of Science for Nursing Anesthesiology. He returned to Colombia Pacific University in 1993 and in 1997 earned his PhD in Anesthesiology and Neurochemical Pharmacology.

During his service in both the regular Army and the Army National Guard he raised through the ranks from PVT E-1 to COL 0-6. He was trained as Airborne (Master), Ranger, Special Forces, and SCUBA and he trained military personal in the use of anesthetics. Colonel Lawrence E. B. Draper retired from the Army in 2010.

In 2012 Larre, and his wife Kristi, we called to serve as missionaries in the Jacksonville, Florida mission as military relations specialists. They finished their service in 2014. They currently live in Mexico.
