Note on verso: "101. Close-up of grass-hats used as camouflage against bombing--the woven circlet shown in the picture is slipped over the head when the occasion requires. Whenever a mass meeting is called during the daytime the Red Fighters bring along their grass hats. In the great grassy lains of Ninghsia and Kansu these easily fade into the pattern of the landscape. Note the automatic rifles in the foreground."
