Note on verso: "120. Improvised gun standards for practicing marksmanship at the front in Ninghsia. Note slogans and posters painted on the walls in the rear which alwasys cover all available space in Red areas. In every squad and company the Reds have a few expert snipers, who act independently with their chief duty knocking-off as many enemy officers as they can spot. This has resulted in most Kuomintang officers now pulling off all identifying insignia before entering battle and even changing uniforms with some of the common soldiers. Photo by Edgar Snow, 1936."
