Biographical History

Ray Watters was born November 15, 1918, in Richfield, Utah. He played college football for Brigham Young University, Southern Utah University, and Utah State University. During his senior year of college, he was drafted into the armed services. He married his high school girlfriend, Madge, right before beginning his service. In the army, he served in Combat Engineers as a Major. He returned home to graduate from Utah State University and received a Ph.D. from Indiana University. He taught at Parowan High School for a year, Utah State University for seven years, and Brigham Young University as chairman of the Health Science Department until his retirement in 1984. He and his wife served a mission in Anaheim, California from 1985-1986. He passed away on January 31, 1994, in Orem, Utah.
