Scope and Contents

“Dangers Impending from Communists,” argues that the results of communism are: the destruction of commerce, family relations, and government; an increase in idleness and crime; the subversion of true religion; and a relapse into savagery. Elisha refers to the Bible as the “great communist book,” labels Jesus’ teachings as communistic, and, referring to the early Christian community, points out the “disastrous collapse of the first society formed in accordance with [communistic] principles,” 18 pp., 1878.
