Biographical History
Walter Malin Lewis was born on October 30, 1917 in Provo, Utah. He served an LDS mission in the South Africa Mission from 1938-1940. When he returned, he registered for the draft, but was exempt for a few years and graduated from Brigham Young University in 1943. He was in the US Army from 1943-1946, serving in the Signal Corps in the South Pacific. After returning home, he married in 1950 and had four children. They lived in Illinois, where he worked in the optometry business. He retired to Provo, Utah in 1981. He passed away in June 2002.
