Walker, agronomist, educator, and Brigham Young University dean, concerning his childhood experiences in Idaho, school experiences at Ricks College, BYU, and Iowa State. Also speaks of his teaching and research experiences at Colorado, Iowa, and Utah State Universities, and at BYU. Comments on his work assignments in Iran, Siam and Lebannon. Includes transcript and sound recording.

Biographical History

R. H. Walker (1902-1979) was a dean in Brigham Young University's College of Biological and Agricultural Sciences.

Rudger Harper Walker was born on August 20, 1902 to parents W. A. Walker and Lavina Harper. He received a BS degree in agronomy from Brigham Young University in 1923. On June 6, 1923, he married Fawn Lucile Davies. He was the director of the Agricultural Experiment Station at Utah State University, and also served as a visiting faculty member at the American University at Beirut. In 1960, he was named dean of the College of Biological and Agricultural Sciences at Brigham Young University, and he served in that position until 1968. He died in June 1979.
