Scope and Contents

Contains correspondence, newspaper clippings, reports, and other information relating to the operation of Student Life between 1979 and 1985, and 1990 to 1991. Includes information on academic affairs, admissions, alumni, auxiliary services, development, athletics, law enforcement, and administrative affairs. Of particular interest are files on the development of the dress and grooming standards and the athletic ticket policy.

Administrative History

Student Life at Brigham Young University was established in 1972 as part of a reorganization of campus services. Many of its functions were previously supervised by the Dean of Students. The division is responsible for managing Campus Life, the Counseling and Career Center, Residence Life, the Student Health Center, and the University Police.
