Scope and Contents
Contains correspondence, newspaper clippings, reports, and other information relating to the operation of Student Life between 1979 and 1985, and 1990 to 1991. Includes information on academic affairs, admissions, alumni, auxiliary services, development, athletics, law enforcement, and administrative affairs. Of particular interest are files on the development of the dress and grooming standards and the athletic ticket policy.

Restricted. Closed for 35 years from the date of creation of the records, and thereafter open to the public in accordance with the University Archives Policy.

It is the responsibility of the researcher to obtain any necessary copyright clearances. Permission to publish material from the Student Life records must be obtained from the Supervisor of Reference Services and/or the L. Tom Perry Special Collections Coordinating Committee.
Administrative History
Student Life at Brigham Young University was established in 1972 as part of a reorganization of campus services. Many of its functions were previously supervised by the Dean of Students. The division is responsible for managing Campus Life, the Counseling and Career Center, Residence Life, the Student Health Center, and the University Police.
