Scope and Contents

Contains newspaper clippings from the Daily Herald, Deseret News, and other newspapers during the years of 1946-1976. The clippings include information about the players and scores of the Brigham Young University football, basketball, tennis, track, swimming, baseball, soccer, golf, and wrestling teams. The collection is sorted chronologically.

Restricted. Closed for 35 years from the date of creation of the records, and thereafter open to the public in accordance with the University Archives Policy.

It is the responsibility of the researcher to obtain any necessary copyright clearances. Permission to publish material from University Relations Division sports newsclippings must be obtained from the Supervisor of Reference Services and/or the L. Tom Perry Special Collections Board of Curators.

Administrative History

University Relations, now referred to as External Relations, incorporates many of the departments on the BYU campus. The office is responsible for alumni relations, public relations, hosting visitors, and athletics. The department has the responsibility to keep open communication and good relations between BYU and alumni, media, and the community.
