Administrative History

The Department of Teacher Education was established in 1997 within the David O. McKay School of Education. The department oversees graduate and undergraduate work within the fields of Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, and Secondary Education. Its goal is to prepare teachers for the workplace.

The department operates under a chairman who reports to the dean of the school. Chairmen have included: M. Winston Egan (1997-2010) and Nancy Wentworth (2010- ).
