Biographical / Historical

LeRoy F. Harlow (1913-1995) was a professor and consultant in Utah.

LeRoy Francis Harlow was born on October 20, 1913 in Seattle, Washington to Milton N. and Ruby Robinson Harlow. He attended Iwao State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering in 1938. On June 28, 1939 he married Agda Sophie Gronbech in Jewell, Iowa. He returned to school, earning a master's degree in public administration in 1943 from the University of Minnesota.

Harlow was a management and finance consultant, working for Booz, Allen and Hamilton Inc. management consultants as well as private consulting. He also worked as a city manager in five cities, and participated as director of various government and tax studies. In 1967 he joined the faculty of Brigham Young University in a dual appointment, teaching in Department of Political Science and serving as a management consultant to the university administration. He later moved to the Marriott School of Management where he retired as professor emeritus of organization and management. Harlow died on May 4, 1995 in Provo, Utah.
