Religious Instruction files on prospective, part-time, and full-time faculty members including contracts and correspondence, budget reports, subject files, office files, and mounted oversize photographs of archaeological and other sites in South America. Includes materials from 1965 to 1979.

Administrative History
Religious Instruction was established in 1973 as part of a reorganization of the College of Religious Instruction. Its instructors taught courses in ancient scripture and the history of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was renamed Religious Education in 1983. The College of Religious Instruction was established in 1959 in a reorganization of the Division of Religion. The college provided instruction in ancient scripture and the history of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and granted master's and doctoral degrees in Mormon religious studies. The college was reorganized, losing its college status, in 1973.
