Scope and Contents

Contains research card files, divided into Maeser, Brimhall, and Cluff eras and Wilkinson era, note cards containing extracts from primary source materials. Note cards were not created for the Harris and McDonald presidential eras. Many of the notes are taken from sources in the topical and chronological files. Materials date from between 1972 and 1979.

Restricted. Closed for 35 years from the date of creation of the records, and thereafter open to the public in accordance with the University Archives Policy.

It is the responsibility of the researcher to obtain any necessary copyright clearances. Permission to publish material from the Centennial History Project records must be obtained from the Supervisor of Reference Services and/or the Special Collections Board of Curators.

The Centennial History Project (1972-1976) was a research project led by university president Ernest L. Wilkinson to compile a history of Brigham Young University at its 100 year anniversary.

Arrangement

Arranged into chronological segments for the Maeser-Brimhall era and the Wilkinson era. The Maeser-Brimhall files are alphabetical by surname and subject codes (for key to subject codes see box 65, folder 3). The Wilkinson files are arranged chronologically by day, month, year (for key to subject code noted on each card, see box 65, folder 4).
