Administrative History
The Board of Trustees of Brigham Young University is the administrative authority and final policy-making body of the university.
Inherited from the structure of Brigham Young Academy, the board originally consisted of president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, general authorities, local officials, and descendants of Brigham Young. In 1939 it was reorganized to include members of the Church General Board of Education.
