Contains syllabi, minutes, correspondence, notes, and other academic records related to and taken from the teaching career of Cummings. The papers range in date from 1925 to 1955. Includes notes and outlines from classes that Cummings taught, classes that include French, theology, linguistics, Italian, and French Civilization; records of students' grades; class rolls, tests and miscellaneous forms; minutes from conferences in which Cummings participated; full papers he had written; and a seminar which he penned to provide a general language background for graduates.

Biographical History

From the Collection:

Benjamin F. Cummings was a professor of Classical Languages at Brigham Young University, 1920-1951. Professor B.F. Cummings was a professor of foreign languages at B.Y.U. for 34 years with French as a specialty. He fostered several language groups, aided in their play production and took part in a number of B.Y.U. faculty plays. He also was chairman of the Eligibility Committee.
