Scope and Contents

Contains materials for training missionaries to teach in the French language.

The 2015 accession includes three French T.A.L.L. disks, a shared file on TRC actors for various languages, and grammar files; as well as the French "Gospel Principles" manual, the textbook "Mais oui!: Introductory French and Francophone Culture," and an infield language study guide for French-speaking missionaries. Materials dated 1967-2006.

The Missionary Training Center (1978-) in Provo, Utah, trains missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints before they depart to their specific assignments around the world.

The Missionary Training Center began operation in 1978 to replace the Language Training Mission. The campus can house up to 4,000 missionaries at a time. Approximately fifty languages are taught at the MTC by staff composed mostly of returned missionaries.
