Edward L. Kimball (1930-2016) was a lawyer and law professor in Utah. He was the son of Spencer W. Kimball.

Biographical History

Spencer W. Kimball (1895-1985) was the twelfth president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving between 1973 and 1985.

Kimball was born on March 28, 1895 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Andrew Kimball and Olive Woolley. He married Camilla Eyring on November 16, 1917 and they had four children. He was ordained an apostle in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on October 7, 1943, by Heber J. Grant, at age 48. He was set apart as acting president of the Quorum of the Twelves Apostles on January 23, 1970. He was later set apart as president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on December 30, 1973, at age 78. He died on November 5, 1985, in Salt Lake City, Utah, at age 90.
