Administrative History

The BYUSA is the official student-run association of the BYU campus.

The ASBYU (Associated Students of Brigham Young University) was formally organized in 1933 by President Franklin S. Harris. Then in 1988, President Jeffrey R. Holland and the BYU Board of Trustees reorganized the ASBYU into the BYUSA (Brigham Young University Student Service Association.) The members are dedicated to serving the student body and advising the administration. Besides serving the BYU community, the members of BYUSA are to be leaders centered on Jesus Christ, who contribute to the building of Zion communities which are united in heart and mind that there be no intellectually, spiritually, emotionally, or physically poor among us.
