Administrative History

The Dean of Women (1969-1971) was an administrative office under the Dean of Students at Brigham Young University.

The office of Dean of Women was reestablished in 1969, replacing the existing position of Counselor for Women. The position was responsible for addressing women's issues on campus. Lucile O. Petty served in this position between 1969 and 1971, when the Dean of Students was reorganized as the Dean of Student Life with broader responsibilities.
