Materials contain a short memoir describing Richard D. Anderson's training, his relations with Mormon servicemen during the war, and his gratitude for having the opportunity to attend Church meetings. Also discusses an event where his parents were able to help an immigrating Mormon family get their feet on the ground in Salt Lake City, Utah. Anderson served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II from 1945-1946. He achieved the rank of radioman, third class. Dated August 28, 2000.
