Scope and Contents

Journal written by Elizabeth Wood Kane, documenting her difficulties and successes, including the death of her daughter Harriet Kane. She recounts how the physician Evan Kane succesfully removed breast cancer from one of his patients. She also writes about her home burning down and their plans to rebuild in a new location. There are multiple accounts of Kane's participation in the Woman's Christian Temperance Union meetings. Dated January 1, 1896 to December 31, 1896.
