Contains a draft of a letter from Thomas L. Kane, stationed at Catlett Station in Virginia, to his commanding officer, addressed as "Major". The letter reports on the August 22, 1862 raid of Catlett Station led by confederate general, J.E.B. Stuart. Dated August 23, 1862.
