They were written respectively from Weaverville; Rough & Rady, Nevada County; and Rattlesnake Bar, Placer County. The letters are addressed to Brokaw's wife, Matilda, in McConnelsville, Morgan Co., Ohio, and primarily discuss family matters, friends, and George Brokaw's loneliness.
