Restricted. Closed for 50 years from the date of creation of the records, and thereafter open to the public in accordance with the L. Tom Perry Special Collections Restriction Policy. Requests to access restricted materials in the University Archives should be submitted to the University Archivist.

It is the responsibility of the researcher to obtain any necessary copyright clearances. Permission to publish material from Dean's Office Records must be obtained from the Supervisor of Reference Services and/or the L. Tom Perry Special Collections Board of Curators.

Administrative History

The College of Family, Home and Social Sciences is the largest college at Brigham Young University. The College of Family Living was established in 1954 by President Ernest L. Wilkinson. The College of Humanities and Social Sciences was also established in 1954 by President Wilkinson. In 1965 this College was divided and became the College of Humanities and the College of Social Sciences. In 1980, major university reorganization combined the College of Family Living with the College of Social Sciences creating the College of Family, Home and Social Sciences.
