Scope and Contents

Journal contains brief biographical sketch of Sanders' life, including dates of birth, baptism, ordination, mission call, marriage, and births of children. The narrative portions ofthe journal describe Sanders' mission experiences, such as tracting, study, and conferences. Also includes lists of accounts and receipts from his own expenses. Finally, it lists statistics from his mission, such as people baptized, houses visited, and tracts and books sold. Included in the collection is a greyscale photocopy of the journal. Dated circa 1896-1940.

Biographical History

(George) Albert Sanders (1873-1946) was a native of Salt Lake County, a clerk, and a Mormon man.

Albert Sanders was born in South Cottonwood in Salt Lake County, Utah on May 14, 1873. His parents names were Sondre (Sundra) Ostensen (Sander) and Anna Jorgensson. Albert grew up in Salt Lake County. He served a mission to Scandanavia in 1896, where he served for two years. When he returned, he married Mary Emma Sharp in the Salt Lake Temple on June 28, 1899. They had seven children together. George worked as a clerk for Auerbach and Company. His wife, Mary, died in 1955, preceded by two of their children. Albert himself died June 6, 1946 and was buried in Murray, Utah.
