Biographical / Historical
Lydia Marden Kimball was born 2 July 1812 in Chichester, New Hampshire to John and Rachel Shaw Marden. In 1832, she married Alvah Kimball. Her sister, Belinda, joined the LDS Church and married Parley P. Pratt. Belinda Marden Pratt's famous "Defence of Polygamy" derived from a letter she wrote to her sister Lydia, who was not an LDS convert. Lydia died in Nashua, New Hampshire on 25 April 1902.
